Tom Aspin

Company Stage Manager

After obtaining a law degree from Sheffield University Tom initially trained as a Solicitor in a prestigious Manchester law firm before turning to the theatre, winning the toss of a coin and within his ASM duties being the front end of Daisy the cow in Jack and the Beanstalk at Newcastle Theatre Royal 1994/95 starring Little & Large and Ian Reddington.

Over what has now turned out to be quite a long and varied career some of the highlights include the 1996 tour of Calamity Jane with Gemma Craven and Stephen McGann, The opening and closing ceremonies of the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester with direct responsibility for the first staged event with Sir Steve Redgrave in the opening ceremony, Spirit of the Horse with an international cast and over 30 superbly trained horses and stunt riders, Popstar with Sam Kane, John Altman and Anthony Costa, Naked Truth with Maureen Nolan, Clare King, Michelle Heaton and Nikki Sanderson as well the Motown musical Dancing in the Streets with an amazingly all round talented cast.

During this period Tom has also worked on many pantos with people as varied as Rod Hull & Emu, Kim Valentine (Neighbours), Chris Fountain (Hollyoaks & Coronation St), Billy Pearce, Bobby Davro, Linda Robson and Grey O’Brien (Coronation St) to name a few.

Over Chrismas and New Year last year Tom was in Berlin, Vienna and Trieste with the show Rack Pack Live at Las Vegas

In 2013 Tom completed two national tours of the UK with The Shaolin Warriors (summer) and with John Godber’s ‘Teechers’ (autumn) as well as pantomime at the Derby Assembly Rooms for PHA Associates

This year Tom has continued touring, having been out with Tap Factory (UK, Israel and Madrid), Bugle Boy the Glenn Miller Musical and has just finished as Company Manager for Flying Music on their smash hit musical Thriller – LIVE. During Christmas 2104/15 he once again worked for PHA Associates, this time at the Leeds Carriageworks.

During the early part of 2015 he toured as CSM for Green Bubble on their children’s show Jurassic Adventures.

He is absolutely delighted to be on tour with Avenue Q as CSM.
