Richard graduated from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts with a first class BA (Hons) in Acting and began his professional career playing Leonard Harper in Ray Cooney's 'Wife Begins at Forty' at Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre. Richard blames both his mother and grandmother for his love of theatre; having been brought up by a drama teacher, Richard has been surrounded by theatre since day one! Growing up watching the likes of 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' on his Grandma's television, he has always known acting was the job for him. Following ‘Wife Begins at Forty’, Richard landed the role of Lucas Lloyd in the musical ‘Loserville’ at the West Yorkshire Playhouse and continued in the role on its subsequent West End transfer to the Garrick Theatre. Recent credits include the role of Jason in ‘Streets’ at the Hackney Empire for Interval Productions, ‘The Light Princess’ at the National Theatre and ‘Rumpelstiltskin’ for Theatre Royal, Bath.
